Alaska Airlines Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel an Alaska Airlines ticket, you can cancel any flight ticket within 24 hours of purchase and receive a full refund as per Alaska Airlines 24 hour cancellation policy. The 24-hour cancellation policy applies only to tickets booked for journeys exceeding 24 hours from the time of booking.  If you cancel the ticket within 24 hours of departure, you will have to pay a cancellation fee. You will receive the amount through the same medium through which you made the payment.  For example - If you have paid by credit card then the amount will be credited back to your credit card.

Alaska Airlines Cancellation Policy—Flights Purchased by Cash or Points after May 1, 2021

Alaska Airlines Cancellation Policy for Saver Fares: If you purchase a Saver fare, you will not be allowed to cancel it outside the 24-hour window after May 1, 2021.

Alaska Airlines Cancellation Policy for Main Cabin Fares: After May 1, 2021, there is no charge for you to cancel the main cabin fare, so you can cancel it free of charge.

Alaska Airlines Cancellation Policy for First Class Fares: After May 1, 2021, you will not have to pay any fees for cancellation of first class fare, so you can cancel it free of charge.

Alaska Airlines Cancellation Policy for Award Fares: After May 1, 2021, you will not have to pay any cancellation fee for canceling an Award Ticket.  So, you can cancel an Award ticket free of charge.

The following aspects need to be looked into for an Alaska Airlines cancellation policy:

• First of all you will need to cancel your ticket before the departure of your flight.
• If you are not qualifying for a refund, you are allowed to cancel your reservation and use the equivalent of its value for future travel.
• If you purchase your ticket from a third party such as a travel agent or online website like Skyscanner/Expedia, you will have to contact to them directly to process your cancellation request.
• Our cash purchases are refunded within 20 business days and credit card purchases are processed within 7 business days, but may take up to 14 days to appear in your account.

• Peace of mind discount will only apply to tickets issued by Alaska Airlines and will be identified by a 13-digit ticket number that begins with the Alaska Airlines code 027.
• If your ticket is issued by another airline, and does not begin with 027, it will be subject to the other airline's policies (with or without discount).

Alaska Airlines Cancellation Fee:

Under Alaska Airlines' cancellation policy, if you wish to cancel a flight ticket (excluding a savings fare) within 24 hours of your flight's departure, you will be required to pay a cancellation fee of US$125.

Alaska Airlines Cancellation Policy Due to COVID-19

Under Alaska Airlines' cancellation policy in response to COVID-19, the peace discount applies to tickets purchased between February 27, 2020 and April 30, 2021.  It means that if someone buys their ticket during this period, He will not be charged a cancellation (or change) fee, as described below.

Step 1: If a person has purchased a saver fares between February 27, 2020 and April 30, 2021, it can be canceled free of charge and credited to his Alaska Airlines account (My Account) or as a certificate of credit for future travel.

Step 2: If a person has purchased a Non-refundable fares between February 27, 2020 and April 30, 2021, it can be changed or canceled free of charge.  If cancelled, the refund will be credited to his Alaska Airlines account (My Account) or received as a certificate of credit for future travel.

Step 3: After May 1, 2021, Alaska Airlines' cancellation policy will be as follows (until further notice):
